2012 CMS Winter Meeting and Canadian launch of MPE2013

The 2012 meeting of the Canadian Mathematical Society is the Canadian launch of MPE2013.
The meeting Director is Luc Vinet.

There will be two public lectures related to MPE2013 By Ivar Ekeland (in French) and Doyne Farmer (English), plenary lectures by Graciela Chichilnisky (Columbia), Catherine Sulem (Toronto) and Martin Nowak (Harvard), and at least 8 MPE special sessions.

Proposals for sessions, in particular proposals related to “Mathematics of the Planet Earth 2013″ are welcome. Proposals should include a brief description of the focus and purpose of the session, the expected number of speakers, as well as the organizer’s name, complete address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc. All sessions will be advertised in the CMS Notes, on the web site and in the AMS Notices. Speakers will be requested to submit abstracts, which will be published on the web site and in the meeting program. Those wishing to organize a session should send a proposal to the Meeting Director, Luc Vinet (luc.vinet@umontreal.ca) by June 30, 2012.
